Casa da Música
- Oporto's new icon has changed the image of the city. Casa da Música is much more than its concrete walls, it builds a new imagery within the city by building a new urban landscape, a new place and essentially, a new way of seeing Oporto. An irregular concrete prism, on a podium which makes it stand out from its surroundings and definitively changes the energetic centre of the Boavista roundabout. The performing experience when visiting this building is staged not only from its vastly generous formal exterior but also its interior through the use of materials and the spatial dynamics of the concrete prism.
