- Created in 1983, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation's modern art centre, CAM – Centro de Arte Moderna has a collection comprised of works of art from the 20th and 21st centuries. Its annual programme includes temporary exhibitions of the works of Portuguese and international artists and a permanent exhibition made up of a selection of the works from its estate. CAM's collection currently has around 9,000 pieces by Portuguese and international artists and especially represents Portuguese art from the first decades of the 20th century. It focuses especially on monographic exhibitions.
