Centre for Environmental Education and Interpretation of the Corno de Bico Protected Landscape

The Minho is a region of varied and highly dense landscapes, due essentially to the abundant supply of water and to the division of the land into small properties, making intensive farming possible. The Corno de Bico Protected Landscape is an example of that green landscape. The building is skilfully set on wooden stilts, creating a sensitive adaptation to the topography. The dialectic of the relation with the landscape is curiously made by the use of the facing material, its constructive form and vibration being a distinctive "matteric" element in the creation of a dense scenic environment which emphasises its relationship with the verdant landscape.
