Galeria de Arte Urbana

GAU - Galeria de Arte Urbana (Urban Art Gallery) is a space for creative freedom that the Lisbon City Council has dedicated to graffiti and street art and has been establishing itself as one of the main platforms for this type of activity in Portugal. The Gallery, that started with just seven original panels situated in Calçada da Glória and Largo da Oliveirinha, substantially extended its area of intervention to locations in Praça Duque de Saldanha, Av. Fontes Pereira de Melo, Av. da Liberdade and in Alcântara, to name some of the most relevant, but also to waste collection vehicles and to the vast collection of bottle banks scattered throughout the city.
