Footbridge

- There is now a new reason to visit Covilhã, a city at the foot of the mountain. Curiously, it is not a cultural facility or an exceptional building, it is simply an infrastructure. The footbridge winds very high on the Ribeira da Carpinteira valley, sketching an elegant and subtle profile in the air. This landmark can be seen from various sides of the valley and the experience of crossing is as surprising as observing its profile hovering over the valley. The bridge is 52 metres high, 22 metres long and 4.40 metres wide. Although it is not a building, it is without doubt exemplary as a work of architecture and for its ability to cooperate with other areas of expertise. More than a bridge, it is a painting in the landscape.
